Fair Use Considerations
We recognize that some uses of copyrighted material may qualify as fair use under copyright law. However, fair use is a complex legal doctrine that depends on factors including:
- Purpose and character of use (commercial vs. educational)
- Nature of the copyrighted work
- Amount and substantiality of portion used
- Effect on market for the original work
If you believe your use qualifies as fair use, consider consulting with a legal professional before filing a counter-notification.
